1Kerala Launches Palliative Care
Kerala Government has launched the Vayomithram project that provides healthcare and support to older adults above the age of 65 years. According to this project, older adults residing in the Corporation and Municipal Areas of the state can access free medicines through mobile clinics, palliative care and help desk facilities.
2Maharashtra Implements Green Corridor
To facilitate quick transport of harvested organs, Maharashtra Government has launched state-wide green corridors. Pune alone has 95 green corridors followed by 40 in Mumbai, 20 in Aurangabad, and 14 in Nagpur. These corridors are made to transport organs quickly and safely even during peak traffic hours.
3Andhra Pradesh Announces Free Cancer Treatment
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy made an announcement that people whose family income is less than Rs 5 lakhs annually can avail free cancer treatment. This announcement came under the Arogyasri pilot project that covers a large number of services like sunstroke, Chikungunya, malaria, and typhoid.
4Gujarat Launches Free Ambulance Service
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched a mobile application for emergency ambulance services. The users can call an ambulance using the “108-Emergency” application and get exact information on the distance, time, and route of the arrival of the ambulance. This service is available for all areas in Gujarat free of cost.
5Madhya Pradesh Provides Health Cover
Madhya Pradesh Government has introduced the Right to Health Scheme through which all its residents can avail of the basic right of treatment. This is an extension of the GOI’s Ayushman Bharat and covers all diseases including critical ailments.
