2. Make sure you are always notified of their location

Some Alzheimer’s patients have a tendency to wander off. The patient, who is also forgetful, might get lost and it would cause a lot of hassle for both you and the patient. You can ensure that the patient has a GPS chip to track him or her and avoid all these troubles.

3. Don’t get into a quarrel with them

Never argue with the patient and never interrupt them while they are in the middle of saying something. They might feel that their words are not of importance to you. This would also have a negative effect on their emotions.

4. Be gentle

Speak in a calm and gentle manner. Don’t show signs of annoyance or anger. Some Alzheimer’s patients might show signs of aggression. Even in times like these, you must be very patient and gentle. Look at them with compassion and tell them that it is okay. Try to calm their nerves by lowering any possible loud noises, pull the curtains to avoid unnecessary light, and ensure a quiet atmosphere. These things might help in calming their nerves when they are feeling anxious or aggressive.
